Character Background

• History: Some here, it's pretty thorough and up to date.
• Core Relationships: All For One: His (currently no given name) older brother, All For One is everything Yoichi is not - strong, sturdy, healthy, and with a powerful ability. ... And no moral compass to speak of, in direct opposition to Yoichi's own. When they were young they got on very well, sharing a fondness for comics and superheros (or villains..), and relying on each other quite a bit as siblings on their own tend to do. But when quirks began manifesting and his brother took advantage of that quirk in consolodating power and influence for himself while the world turned over in civil unrest and bloodshed, Yoichi ... took exception. After all, with great power comes great responsibility!! Not great selfishness!! And even though All For One made claims of trying to help people, it always came with a cost that proved it was for nothing but selfish gain, earning his little brother's condemnation and utter uncooperativeness. Without any real power of his own there wasn't much Yoichi could actually DO about it, but he tried anyway, and for his efforts got locked in a bank vault so he'd be 'nice and safe', and had a power-stocking quirk forced on him, stolen from someone else. He isn't going to forgive any of it any time soon. While he does not hate his brother, and indeed cares for him quite a bit, Yoichi is determined to stop him, firmly believing that what All For One is doing is abhorrent on all levels. Unfortunately he's also painfully aware that he doesn't have the ability to do much more than be an annoyance.

Isolation: Yoichi is starkly lacking in other relationships. Throughout his childhood he'd been rather dependent on his brother thanks to a frail constitution and then later the dangers of the outbreaks of anti-powered violence, which he could do nothing about but All For One COULD. It left him with no other friends, no companions to turn to, no-one to even talk with except his brother, whom he firmly rejected after it became clear to him All For One was a little TOO keen on the villains' take in comics. While this hasn't stunted him as much as it could have emotionally, it has left Yoichi with little idea of where to turn to or how to convince anyone to take up his cause of stopping his brother ... or even really how to deliberately make friends.

Character Personality Through Key Moments

Some of these are extrapolated and or entirely invented based on interpretation of his future self inside One For All, as flashbacks tend to be ... short.

(2+) Positive Experiences:

With no parental influence to speak of, Yoichi's entire moral compass has been determined and laid out via comic book super heroes, and thus shares the general hero focus on JUSTICE!!!, to perhaps an unhealthy degree. His education came in the form of great (fictional) people undertaking great burdens for the betterment of everyone, or chasing down terrible villains to prevent harm to innocents, and those lessons stuck. He treats others well whenever he can, as kindly and fairly as he is able, not just because it's how he wants to be treated in turn, but because he firmly believes it's just the right thing to do. Likewise, he struggles to not interfere if he sees something he believes is wrong going on, rarely backing down unless others are in imminent risk if he doesn't desist and it's obvious he can't intervene in time to help them. It's easy to point out robbery or assault or murder is wrong, but he also strongly dislikes more subtle wrongs like blackmail or coercion and where these inevitably lead. He doesn't see a lot of shades of gray, but he's also influenced by the countless redemption arcs comics are riddled with.

Thus he's also forgiving, almost to a fault. Anyone can be saved, he's certain, so long as they really mean it and really want to change. This doesn't mean they can get away with murder, there must still be a punishment to fit the crime, that's what laws are for! But if that terrible person truly wishes to change, he believes they should have the chance. And if they don't realize there could ever be a chance, it's up to him to make them realize they have options to pick from. If they then choose an evil path, well.. he'll do what he can to stop them. Even generations later, this is still obvious in how he speaks to Izuku and the other holders of One For All.

(2+) Negative Experiences:

Yoichi is painfully aware of his weakness. He's frail, he tends towards being ill, he has no real stamina to speak of, and he still has this goal of stopping his brother, who's building a vast empire of influence and powers. This has left him certain he needs to gather allies, somehow, to help him in his fight, as his own stubborn persistence means he's likely to die before he can see those goals come to fruition. He knows he's weak, but doesn't tend to plan accordingly, even at cost to himself he'll still attempt to interfere, to save lives or stop someone from taking those same lives. This weakness is no more obvious than after spending months or even longer locked up in his brother's cold, isolated bank vault, where he's occasionally visited to be gloated at..

It has left him a bit self-sacrificing. It doesn't really matter what it costs him in the effort to reach his goals, so long as it doesn't cost anyone else. His health, his happiness, even his life aren't as important as seeing justice prevail and lives get saved or improved. It can even be a bit spiteful, to the degree of refusing food or comfort from those he sees as malevolent simply to make a point. And if he has the opportunity to save someone, he'll try to take it every time. If he gets hurt, so be it.

His brother's empire of false promises, deception and manipulation was to Yoichi a deep and personal betrayal of values he thought he'd shared with All For One ... up until it was very obvious they did not. His bond with his brother had once been everything to him, more important than nearly anything else, and having that rejected in favor of something like mere power was profoundly upsetting. Thus he made a promise to himself, to see his brother stopped once and for all.. and if he couldn't do it himself, he'd find allies that could. Not necessarily to kill him, they are still brothers, but he had to be stopped, for all the lives he was ruining, manipulating, twisting to his own selfish desires. This oath has led to every decision he's made, every action he's taken since it became obvious his brother wasn't going to listen to his appeals, and their adversarial but still deeply intertwined relationship will still define him centuries later.

Deer Country Attributes

• Canon Powers: One For All: A combination of a stockpiling quirk and a quirk that allows him to transfer his power to others, One For All in its current state is ... pretty much not useful. It can store the power and experience he gains throughout his life, by way of physical might, speed, or further quirks and powers, but as Yoichi is naturally rather lacking in this it doesn't actually have any effect that could hope to be felt in his iteration of OFA. But he has it! He can, if he really focuses, make it light up across his hands and body in a smokelike white light show. This too isn't of much use.

Willpower: Not. Quite a power, as it's not supernatural, but Yoichi is noted as being incredibly strong-willed in spite of his physical frailty, to the point of being able to throw off the control of others, and aiding others in resisting similar attempts at takeover. It's not flawless, because it's not supernatural.

• Blood Type: Coldblood
• Omen: Hydra
• Blessed Day: Febuary 7th, invented birthday; canon provides none
• Patron Pthumerian: Doorway
• Blood Power Manifestation: As Yoichi has no real power to speak of on his own, his blood magic will over time be strong and angle for the standard fragile glass cannon caster sort of look, with a certain knack for fire and electricity control by way of raw power, and finer, more precise but weaker control over ice. Plus of course the standard Coldblood immunity to burning and freezing, and the minor enhancements blood provides, though since he's weak to begin with these likely only bring him up to human average.
