I picked up something from The Watchmen. It's not like we can order them here, but what I read wasn't so bad. There's blanks to fill in, but what's the fun in collecting if I don't have to try hard?
Sarcastic? Maybe. No one will ever know the double entendre. Well. Yes they will, but not today.
I get what you were saying about, basically anti-heroes.
Oh, hey. It's true, half the point of collecting is spending way too much time trying to find that thing.
I'm glad you like it. ['it's not so bad' clearly means liking it in Yoichispeak apparently.] Some writers are better than others about nuance or rounded stories.
I'll keep an eye out for other titles with more than 40s era camp that are actually here.
Guess I'm a collector then. I know someone here who hoards. Does that mean he's prepared or does that mean he's paranoid?
[In that case, that's exactly what it is. He likes what he's reading or seeing and that makes it 'not so bad'. He says nothing of a correction on that.]
Yeah, alright. Do that.
[Which is 'please' unspoken.]
They had other books, actual novels. Don't know if you need the pretty pictures to go with it, but I gave one of them a try when I was bored.
I guess it depends on the level of hoarding. The sort that busts walls out with stuff is pretty unhealthy. But in Trench, where everything's out to get you for real, it's not actually paranoia is it?
Just because I prefer comics doesn't mean I don't know how to read books! No recs to make there though, I have no idea what's actually in this city and what isn't, and don't want to suggest something that isn't possible to get ahold of.
Which one did you try?
Oh side tangent, March is coming and that's the month of the patron of RNG apparently. Last year it seems it (he?) caused Jumanji to happen. Actual Jumanji. Hope you have your tabletop skills sharpened just in case.
I wouldn't want to have to defend that much. I have enough as it is. I'll say it's paranoia because he's an asshole.
[Read as his one and only real friend.]
Called 'The Last Vampire'. They had the series in a single book so I didn't feel like I had to collect more needless things. I'll go back and leave the book there, send you a pin if you're interested. It's paid for. I'm the boogieman, not a thief.
[No, he's been that too.]
Re: Boogieman. They can try to send a herd of elephants, but they're going to get disappointment instead. It sounds fun.
Wow, what a random thing to point out. Do you have a guilty conscience about being accused of stealing before now?
Don't take that seriously. I don't think you're a thief, I have no reason to.
I'll keep an eye out for it either way. Vampires aren't usually my thing but a good story is a good story no matter the genre. How well do you know this paranoid asshole? Offer him a book, it might help distract him. Or annoy him, either way, something other than hoarding to focus on!
This place isn't big enough for elephants. Maybe one very large, very angry rhino.
I'm whatever I need to be when I need to be. Like everyone else, just not a petty thief. You've caught on that you're not talking with a "nice person", right? I'll be clear on that.
[Sometimes pushing away people teaches you who can stay close. Time to put that to the test.]
I can just leave it for you. The paranoid asshole and I are from the same world. We know each other and have ambitions that cross each other's path. I gave him a pokemon game for his birthday, it hasn't shown up broken on my doorstep so I guess that went over well.
[Alright that one got him. You get the coveted:]
lol.
I heard about Jumanji being a real thing last month. I also watched a river dredge up every regret a teenage boy ever had. We had no choice but to watch it happen. This place likes to try to dick with your head.
Naughty and nice are subjective, P_1. You could be a literal frothing homicidal axe-wielding maniac for all I know, but so far you seem pretty normal to me so I'm going to say homicidal axe murder isn't really on your average daily to-do checklist given your scorn for guns. Or perhaps the gun derision is because you prefer axes, who knows! Point being, you haven't been terrible to me as of yet.
And that's worth something to me. Especially when we're using a faceless, anonymous sort of communication as this, where there are no true consequences for being as horrible as one chooses to.
Do you suppose with all this "other worlds" stuff, there's somewhere where you could have actually given him a pokemon instead of a pokemon game?
that would definitely dick with MY head. Hey yeah that game/movie/comic you like? It's real and RIGHT THERE, go catch a pikachu. But more seriously, are you doing okay if this place likes inflicting all kinds of horrible things? Not trying to imply you're ~weak~ or anything, but sometimes the best way to get something off your back is by throwing it at some rando online.
[Though he's a man of a little less words than has been kindly said to him, replying in kind to saying 'you're normal and you trying to push me away isn't going to work that easily needs to be responded to. No it doesn't but he's going to.]
You haven't pissed me off, there's no reason.
I heard there was worlds like that. I bet there's a world for a lot of things. I've met people who should've only been from stories I've heard. People from worlds of cannibal bug people, people from worlds where they're living in an apocalypse. Thinking there's a world out there with pokemon isn't such a far throw. I wouldn't give him a pokemon, though, he can get his own.
[He has to kind of re-read it a couple times. This was a lead in that he fell for way too easily. He's going to have to be a little more careful.]
You're asking if I'm okay? This place can't throw anything at me that could get the better of me. I'm hard to kill and easy to piss off. People usually don't give a guy like me problems.
[There's a delay this time, surely innocuous, because life rolls on and doesn't care about texting. But mostly Yoichi spends a little time being bemused. Shigaraki isn't an entirely unknown surname, there's a few here and there around Japan, but what were the odds of him ever running into one?]
Not everything can be stopped by being physically tough, and not all problems can just be beat up. People get this idea in their heads that if they're tough, they can handle everything by themselves. But if all kinds of meta powers are a thing, and psychics and magic and so on are a concern, then sooner or later there's going to be something that messes with your head that you can't just punch. Or throw a bus at, or your choice of combat.
It can leave effects, you know? Things might be okay now but if that changes, I'll listen. No judgment. The least I can do for getting books and games found for me.
Aside from that, if pokemon show up I think we're all obligated to go on a Journey and catch every one we can find. Unless they're cannibal bug pokemon from an apocalypse, which really sounds like a fan game plot now that I'm thinking about it.
